iPhone / invite-only testing
Outdoors
or indoors.
One run
is one run.
You choose how many times a week you want to run. Outdoor GPS runs and indoor timer runs count exactly the same.
01Run days
Rest days
take nothing
away.
Every day you run counts once and adds to your total. Rainy days and quiet weeks never make the number go down.
- Nothing in the app shrinks when you miss a run.
- Your weekly goal is yours to change at any time.
- Running workouts from Apple Health count as run days too.
02Outdoor = Indoor
Where you ran
changes nothing.
A run on a treadmill and a run along the river are the same run. Indoor runs are never worth less, in the numbers or on screen.
You can record an indoor timer run without giving the app access to your location.
03Weekly league
Thirty people,
one week.
Compete on weekly XP with runners who run at similar times of day. It starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. That is all.
While the league is still growing, CPU runners fill the open seats. They are labelled “CPU” in the standings, never passed off as people.
04Runners
Twenty-four,
one at a time.
You start with three. As your run days add up, new runners and outfits join your collection. Hover a runner to switch its outfit through the eight colours.
Twenty of the twenty-four are shown. The colour switch is an effect on this page and does not match how outfits look in the app.
05Friends & privacy
Your route
stays on your
phone.
When a friend reaches their weekly goal, you can send one high five. There is no button to send one back, so nobody owes anybody.
- Your GPS route is stored on your device and never sent to friends or the league.
- Friends see your display name, your runner and a summary of your run days.
- Reporting and blocking are built in, and you can delete your account at any time.
06Apple Watch
Leave the
iPhone behind.
Track a run on Apple Watch alone and send it to your iPhone later. Runs are saved on the device when you are offline and sync once you reconnect.
07FAQ
Things worth knowing.
Can I use it now?
Testing is invite-only on iPhone at the moment. An App Store release is in preparation, and there is no public download or open TestFlight link yet.
Are indoor runs worth less than outdoor runs?
No. A treadmill run and an outdoor run each count as one run, and nothing in the app treats them differently.
Do my run days go down if I rest?
No. Each day you run counts once and adds to your total. Runners and outfits you have earned never disappear either.
What does it cost?
The price is not decided yet. It will be announced on this page. There will be no ads.
Do I need to sign in?
Yes. Sign in with Apple or Google is required, because run days and league results are confirmed on our server. Runs are saved on your device when offline and sync later.
Can other people see my GPS route?
No. Your route stays on your device and is never sent to friends or the league.
Does it work on Apple Watch or Android?
Apple Watch is supported. You can track a run on the watch alone and send it to your iPhone later. There is no Android release planned yet.
How does it use Apple Health?
RunFaster reads running workouts from Apple Health and counts them as run days. Runs you record in RunFaster are saved to Apple Health as well, and you can turn that off in Settings.
